After years of stops and starts, “The Crow” reboot is finally flying, and the first trailer has been released to prove it.

After years of anticipation, The Crow reboot has spread its wings, and the haunting trailer is here to entice fans. Directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell), this remake stars Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs.

Bill Skarsgard leads the film, which centres on a man who is murdered alongside his fiancée but is granted supernatural powers to seek revenge.

“The Crow” began as a comic book, with James O’Barr debuting the character in 1989. It grew to new levels of popularity with the cult hit film, which starred the late Brandon Lee, who was tragically killed in an on-set accident during filming. Multiple sequels followed, including “The Crow: City of Angels” (1996), “The Crow: Salvation” (2000), and “The Crow: Wicked Prayer” (2005).

But the current reboot took nearly 20 years to get off the ground, with multiple stars and filmmakers coming and going. Blade Stephen Norrington took a stab at one point, while F. Javier Gutiérrez (“Before the Fall”) and star Luke Evans tried to break the curse at another point. Corin Hardy (“The Nun”), Jason Momoa, and Sony were tied in the late 2010s, but Momoa departed in 2018.

The new film hails from Rupert Sanders and stars FKA Twigs, Danny Huston, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajila, and Jordan Bolger. The script is from Zach Baylin and Will Schneider. Victor Hadida, Molly Hassell, John Jencks, Samuel Hadida, and Edward R. Pressman produced.

Lionsgate acquired the project last year.

Rupert has masterfully brought new dimensions to create a contemporary universe for this timeless saga of undying love, and we can’t wait to share this vision with film audiences.”
