Emma Stone And Yorgos Lanthimos Reunites for “Kinds of Kindness”
In Emma Stone, fresh off her surprising Oscar win for Poor Things, is teaming up again with acclaimed director Yorgos Lanthimos. The duo, known for their successful collaboration on The Favourite, is set to deliver another intriguing film titled “Kinds of Kindness.” Searchlight Pictures, the same studio behind Poor Things, has announced that the movie will hit theaters on June 21.

The plot of “Kinds of Kindness” remains a secret, but it’s known as an anthology film bringing together Emma Stone with her “Poor Things” co-stars Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, and “The Favourite” actor Joe Alwyn. Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, Hunter Schafer, and Mamoudou Athie complete the cast. Lanthimos wrote the screenplay with Efthimis Filippou, his collaborator on “The Lobster,” “Killing of a Sacred Deer,” and “Dogtooth.” The movie, previously titled “And,” was filmed in New Orleans in late 2022.
“Kinds of Kindness” marks the fifth collaboration between Stone and Lanthimos, who recently worked together on “Poor Things,” earning Stone her second Oscar for Best Actress. The film, also distributed by Searchlight, secured four Academy Awards, including for production and costume design. “Poor Things,” where Stone portrays a woman with the brain of her unborn infant, is still showing in theaters, surpassing $100 million worldwide.
Emma Stone And Yorgos Lanthimos previously collaborated on 2018’s Oscar-winning “The Favourite” and the short film “Bleat.” Discussions are underway for their sixth project, a remake of the South Korean fantasy comedy “Save the Green Planet.” Stone has praised her creative partnership with Lanthimos, stating, “Yorgos feels like a lot of his process of working with people or putting people in his films has to do with who they are as a person. It’s not just performance-based.”
