The Jurassic World franchise is getting a new instalment and has already secured a release date and a director. Universal is in early talks with David Leitch, the action filmmaker behind Deadpool 2, Hobbs & Shaw, and Bullet Train, to helm the fourth Jurassic World movie, which will hit theatres on July 2, 2025.

The studio confirmed the release date on Twitter with a teaser poster that features the iconic Jurassic Park logo.

The new Jurassic World movie will be a fresh take on the dinosaur saga, with no connection to the previous trilogy that starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. The plot details are still under wraps, but it is expected to explore new aspects of Jurassic World mythology and introduce new characters and creatures. The script will be written by David Koepp, who penned the first two Jurassic Park movies, and Steven Spielberg will serve as an executive producer.

David Leitch is a former stuntman who made his directorial debut with John Wick, which he co-directed with Chad Stahelski. He then directed Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, and Hobbs & Shaw, establishing himself as one of Hollywood’s most sought-after action directors.
