Miley Cyrus Fangirls wins the 2024 Grammys with her first-ever win.
Cyrus, 31, won Best Pop Solo Performance for “Flowers,” beating out Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift. As she took the stage to accept the award from Mariah Carey, she couldn’t help but fangirl over the fellow pop queen who presented her with the award.
After winning her first-ever Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, Miley Cyrus was ecstatic. The award was presented to her by Mariah Carey, which caused Cyrus to fangirl over the moment.
Miley Cyrus Fangirls was seemingly shocked to hear her name from Carey and was gasping all the way to receive her gramophone. She expressed her excitement by saying, “This is just too iconic. Oh my God, I just got stuck in the rain in traffic and thought I was going to miss this moment. I could miss the award, but not Mariah Carey.”
Miley Cyrus Fangirls also noted that she “sat in my lucky number 3 seat.” She continued, “And I could’ve missed the award – that’s fine, but not Mariah Carey. I just saw you at the Hollywood Bowl; it was everything.”

Miley Cyrus Fangirls also mentioned that Carey is connected to butterflies and talked about a little boy who wanted a butterfly net for his birthday. Cyrus admired Carey, saying, “This MC is gonna stand by this MC for this because this is just too iconic.”
Doja Cat, 28, received a nomination for the track “Paint the Town Red.” The song samples Dionne Warwick’s “Walk on By.” On Instagram, Warwick, 83, shared that she was “thrilled” to have played a role in creating the song.
“I wanted to say, I think it’s wonderful that these youngsters who are recording today had decided to listen to some really good stuff of the old folks. Those that been recording for well over 20, 30, 40, 50 years and making decisions that good music plays a very important part. So I’m thrilled that you’re discovering us, that you’re keeping us alive,” she shared shortly after it was released.
Cyrus’ win was a significant achievement, beating out Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and Doja Cat for the Best Pop Solo Performance award. Cyrus’ night could get even bigger, as she was nominated for five other awards: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Cyrus and her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, also made Grammy history with their respective nominations in the Record of the Year category. The 2024 Grammy Awards were held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and were broadcast and streamed live on CBS and Paramount+.
