The 34-year-old pop star was seen coughing and trying to clear her throat as she performed on stage during her sold-out six-show run in Singapore. Taylor seemed to be struggling as she sang her hit track Delicate.
One fan captured the incident on camera and shared it on TikTok, writing: “Hope she’s okay. she’s been coughing.” Taylor’s voice also sounded hoarse as she sang to her fans.
Fans were quick to express their concern, with one person commenting: “Oooh no she needs some rest.” Another optimistic fan said: “Combination of weather change, humidity, (probably) physical tiredness. She’ll be better after a few weeks off.”
A third fan commented: “Looks like she’s only got 2 shows then the whole of April off so hoping she can rest,” while another added: “Oh no..finally i was wondering how she can do all these eras tour without getting sick coz damn queen was performing with all that rain n heat.”
Taylor recently faced an intense backlash after it was reported that she was paid a whopping $ 3 million per show in Singapore to prevent her from performing anywhere else in Southeast Asia. The news didn’t sit well with politicians in the Philippines and Thailand, who were upset that Singapore had made a deal to limit Taylor’s Eras Tour performances in their region.
According to reports, Singaporean authorities made a deal that stopped Taylor from performing in other parts of Southeast Asia. They hoped this would encourage fans to travel to the wealthy city-state to see her perform.
Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister of Thailand, shared at the iBusiness Forum 2024 that the Singaporean government offered Taylor $ 3 million for each show as part of an exclusivity deal for her Eras Tour. With six shows in Singapore, that’s a total of $18million.
Srettha revealed that he had spoken to the organizer of Taylor’s concert, who told him about the deal with Singapore. He mentioned to the Thai Enquirer that it would be less expensive for Taylor to perform in Thailand.
He also said: “I believe she would be able to attract more sponsors and tourists to Thailand.” Srettha expressed his regret, saying if he had known about the deal with Singapore, he would have tried to bring the concerts to Thailand instead, as they “can generate added value for the economy.”
The Eras Tour has been a massive global juggernaut, spanning five continents. However, the demanding schedule may be taking its toll on the 34-year-old singer. Swift’s concerts are known for their energy and spectacle, but her health remains a priority.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, a self-professed Swiftie, stood by Lee during a joint news conference. The deal has sparked debate, with some leaders questioning its impact on regional relations. Thailand’s Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, previously claimed that Singapore subsidized the concerts with millions of dollars per show, stipulating exclusivity in Southeast Asia.
