Spanning eight episodes, the show follows Chein, portrayed by Chien, a Taiwanese mobster who journeys to the Los Angeles area to safeguard his estranged mother following his father’s assassination in Taipei. Yeoh, whose stellar performance earned her accolades, particularly stood out. Variety TV critic Aramide Tinubu hailed Yeoh as “cutthroat and commanding,” labeling the series as “a thrilling, brilliant dramedy about familial obligations, buried skeletons, and the bonds that can never be broken.” Tinubu further noted the emergence of Chien and Li as remarkable talents destined for continued success on screen.
